Our client is a leading company in marketing, sales and distribution of specialty chemicals and food / pharma ingredients. With offices and warehouses in 31 countries in Europe, Africa and Australia/Asia, the Group has a turnover of € 925m and employs c800 staff worldwide.
Main Purpose of Role:
Office based with some UK and European travel, the candidate will help the long term growth within the UK Cosmetic Team, working closely with the Account Managers, key Suppliers and Logistics Team to provide vital support and help achieve company targets.
Objectives:
1. To have a technical and commercial grasp of the cosmetics market sector, experience in supporting the sales team and provide a professional customer oriented service at all times.
2. Aid team members to ensure the group operates in the most efficient and quality oriented manner and achieves the team’s targets.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and monitor competitive data.
4. Analyse and monitor gross margin/ profits.
5. Negotiate purchases and sales contracts with suppliers.
6. Balance the supply/demand of products and manage logistics.
7. Issue quarterly sales reports and forecasts. Monitor lost business and rectify promptly.
8. Monitor customer service, technical and product requirements.
9. Support the development of new distributorships.
10. Maintain and grow key accounts in the South.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• An honors degree in a scientific discipline.
• A chemistry background, ideally with strong commercial experience. Knowledge of the cosmetics industry would be advantageous.
• Commercial experience preferred
• Enthusiastic and motivated team player, able to work on own initiative
• Excellent communication skills essential to be able to communicate with customers on a professional level whilst also maintaining a strong working relationship with colleagues.
• IT literate.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
